TO ALL OF OUR AMAZING CUSTOMERS –
WE WILL BE BACK SHORTLY
The efforts that our teams across the business have put in over the last couple of weeks have been monumental. We have done our very best to serve you safely implementing social distancing strategies and increased health and safety protocols to keep our customers and teams as safe as possible.
It has become clear over the last 24 hours that trying to operate busy takeaway businesses, click and collect and delivery options whilst trying to maintain the government advice on social distancing has been too difficult for us to achieve and we feel that we need to close all stores with immediate effect to protect the NHS, slow the spread of the virus and look after the well-being of our hardworking teams and our customers.
This has been an incredibly difficult decision to make and as a family business, we are fully aware of the ramifications this has to our people and to the communities we strive to serve. We will be donating any leftover food to those most in need in our local communities immediately.
As a family fish & chips have been part of our lives since 1923, nearly 100 years ago. We have seen a lot in that time, world wars, stock market crashes, deep recessions and yet we have risen to every challenge we faced with fortitude, strength and fighting spirit that will never be extinguished. To the 600 people we employ, I have only the utmost respect and pride for the way in which you have adapted to the changes we have introduced to keep our customers and people as safe as we can. Your spirit, support, endeavour, and hard work have made these last couple of weeks a humbling experience for me and it is in times of adversity when you really understand the culture you have created within your business and wow, what a culture we have, I couldn’t be more proud to lead you.
We will keep everybody updated on our social channels, websites and e-mail alerts over the coming weeks and thank you for the support and custom you have given our business over nearly 100 years.
I would like to take this moment to say a huge thank you to our nation’s incredible emergency and frontline personnel. We all owe you so much, your efforts to help and support all of society are awe-inspiring. You are the real heroes and always have been.
Take care of yourselves, your families and the ones you love.
